1. COME TO CLASS REGULARLY

If you can consistently come to class 2-3 times per week, that will help you make connections with your taekwondo friends and give great repetition of practice that helps you get better and better each time you kick, block and punch.

2. PRACTICE AT HOME

This become more important the higher your rank. The practice you do at home does not have to be perfect to be worthwhile. Show someone the new moves you learned in class or practice your form or combos. Use our mobile app to check out curriculum videos in the Resources section.

3. TEST FOR YOUR NEXT BELT

If you have worked hard and the instructor thinks you are ready to test, you should! It is extremely motivating to have a new belt with new stripes to earn. Not testing guarantees not getting a new belt.

4. COMPETE AT TOURNAMENTS

In most of taekwondo, you are competing against yourself. Tournaments are your opportunity to see how you stack up against people just like you. We always see the most effort out of students when they are training to compete.

5. PARTICIPATE IN EVENTS

There are always more events than just regular classes going on. There are baseball games, trips to the water park, class in the grass and more. These events are where you get to know your taekwondo friends and have a lot of fun!

6. HAVE FUN!

Taekwondo is a lifetime sport that is enjoyed by many. There will be setbacks an disappointments. Don't let this deter you. Keep training and keep having fun and learning about this amazing martial art called Taekwondo.
